Fun at the Fair

I dug out my Cosmo Cricket - togetherness papers for this LO as I thought the colours went well with the pictures.  The shots are of a village Church fair that we went to in France on holiday, it was great fun there were loads of chocolate crepes, and chi chi (the strips of doughnut covered in sugar).  The younger kids loved going on the merry-go-round, and if you managed to catch the toy that the owner waved around on his stick as the ride went round then you got another free go - so we had lots of goes!!!  The bumper cars were great - all the adults had a go and enjoyed shaking each other to bits on them.  Back to the LO - I made the scallop edge with my corner punch, crumpled and inked it, the flowers are from a prima tube but the blue/green colour matched the papers well, another TH ticket (those have been one of my top purchases - used them loads :)), the alpha is TH and I crackle painted and inked it - though I think the letters are a bit too small for it to work well - I need to play with that some more.  Here are some close ups:

Summer Days

Yep - still going on the summer photos :)  I am using up my October Afternoon seaside papers on this, I made my own scalloped circle by cutting up the bunting paper in the range, the blue background paper is part of a family collection from colorbok.  I distressed and crinkled the edges.  I decided to add my own stitched swirls, using some cream wool...always punch the holes 1st and then stitch through them it makes it lots easier, and added some star buttons.  I made the flowers from one of the fly a kite October afternoon papers, the tutorial for them is here on the Bobunny blog. I added some lace around the edge of the flowers and a brad and some glitter.  My journalling spot was made using some nestabilities with co-ordinating stamps, the title cut out using one of the Tim Holtz alphabet strips and I wrote the 'days' bit in my best writing :)  This photo is from our holiday in france which was gloriously sunny and we speant many days on the beach where the kids were in and out of the surf, playing boules, building sandcastles and having lots of fun.  Here are some close ups of some of the elements.

Rockpools

This is my latest LO using the WRMK Vintage Blue papers.  I found another flower tutorial on scrap a little, and had to have a go.  So my flowers are made using that and then I cut some leaves out too.  The little butterflies are a MS  punch, and I added some little white flight dots around some of them.  I haven't added too much to the LO really, a bit of inking and stamping and cutting.  The shots are from our holiday (yes I am quite behind with my scrapping) and when we went to search the rock pools - didn't find that much, the odd fish and remains of crabs but it was great fun :).

UTEE Frame

This is my first attempt at a UTEE frame, thanks to the advice from my friends on Ukscrappers I managed to get tips on how to do this and a link to the Stampman blog.  I painted my frame 1st in purple and blue acrylic paint, then covered it in one of my wet ink pads and started adding clear UTEE - which was very dappled at 1st but as you build up the layers it gets smoother...I then did patches of different colours all over the frame, and heated up some more silver, purple and blue UTEE in my melt pot.  I had a go at pouring this out and stamping into it, and whilst it was still warm (though be very careful I have singed fingers) I was able to cut out and break off the bits of the stamps I wanted and then melted that and the remanents of UTEE into my frame.  I then covered some MS monarch butterflies in UTEE and some flowers in that spare UTEE, melted and stuck them on.  I tried adding some small beedz into the UTEE too....I added a little glitter and some perfect pearls which is the shimmer you can see in the stamped images.  Time flew whilst I was doing this and my kids want to have a go at it too :) I still need to learn lots about UTEE and melt pot but had a lot of fun making this!

Brothers

My first page of 2011, I haven't been able to do that much scrapping recently as we had some major building work done to our house, but now most of the decoration is done and I have a little room to scrap in I am well away.  For this LO I used lots of different bits, the papers are vintage blue by We are Memory Keepers, I got my white acrylic paint our, and stenciled some Martha Stewart butterflies and  also dry brushed the paint around the edge of the papers, and over the papermania sticker title...the stickers are green underneath! I also made a paperfringe and swirled it - I like the effect when you have double sided papers, damped and scrumpled a paper ribbon and cut out some of the birds from one of the papers.  The stitched paper was all done for me, so added a little journalling with my new Christmas present frame stamps, and some Brenda Pinnick rubons I got in a kit and this is what I came up with.  It is a picture from our holiday in the summer which was great and very warm.

I wish everyone a happy and good 2011 and look forward to blogging a lot more often again, especially now I have a small area I can make messy with all my papers :)
