No 1 Favourite

When we went to Florida my youngest enjoyed having his photo taken with the characters, and in his opinion Donald Duck is the best one.  Despite having caught Donald with Daisy at the entrance to one of the parks it was still not good enough, he wanted Donald on his own!  After an hour of queuing to meet all the characters at Epcot he finally got his photo and Donalds autograph!

I used some of the Simple Stories Say Cheese collection for this page.  I started it with a black polka dot paper and then used my glitz chevron roller stamp and some paint to print down the middle of the page, I then added a strip of the bingo cards and different pieces of paper - I also used my ek success book edge punch.  I added some rosette flowers (using a Tim Holtz die) and put brads in the centre, and then added a little banner of twine around the flowers, as always lots of distressing of the edges and layering!

The Royal Observatory

I go to a local craft group each month, and normally I will start something, and then realise I am missing something and not complete it!  I think this is the first page I have done from start to finish in an evening!  It uses lots of the Simple Stories Back to School range, I basically distressed and layered up loads of the different papers as well as one of their die cut cards too, there is also washi tape (a christmas one by MME) and I made the bunting with a Stamping up punch my friend Shelia has.  I added drips of black ink and interspersed it with some lovely enamel brads, and really that was it - no stitching and only a little bit of mess!

This is a shot outside the Royal Observatory…well near the planetarium which was great and lovely to see a show at, as well as have a play with all their interactive exhibits.

Soaring

Hello - I have been such a poor blogger recently - just life and lots of busyness, I have still been scrapping, just not blogging it much so I am scheduling a load of posts as I have a quiet moment this evening.

This month I got sent a wonderful pack of Websters goodies to play with from ATDML - the new lines and they are gorgeous.  This was one of the last pages I made with the kit and it uses the Party Time papers…now there is a lot of pink in these papers, but there is also lots of beautiful yellows on the B-sides including a gorgeous chevron print…plus the pom pom paper is one of my favourites.  So I cut some of the pom pom paper, and then cut out the pom poms behind my photo - so I didn't waste any - these then were stitched  to the top and just below my photo.  I crinkled and stitched all the edges, and added some of the beautiful wide Websters lace that comes in this range - you can either use it whole or just cut it down the middle.  I also love their large wooden frames - you can use them for journalling or photos…or just an embellishment.  The paper clip was in a pack from IKEA, I added a few pearls and stickers and the title is by Prima.

It is a shot from one of our half term days out where we went on the Emirates cable car across the Thames - it was a beautiful day and we had quite a long queue as I think many other people had decided to get out after all the wind and rain.  Gorgeous views of London and lots of fun.

Morning

Here is a page that I did for the ATDML blog with some of the lovely new goodies that have just arrived in store.  I love Websters pages and have had loads of fun creating with their papers.

The inspiration for this page came from the Morning journal card, I replicated the golden circles with gelatos and the little circular sponge that you get in the tool kit they do.  I then layered up some of the white side of the Sweet Routine papers, and then just a hint of some of the pinks and blues, then stitched and used some of their stickers, cut out the butterfly and twirled the hanging threads and stuck them with glue and gems - all part of the kit.

So the photo is a fairly regular occurrence in our house, that you discover one of the kids asleep in the morning with the book they were reading the night before on their face!

There will be loads more inspiration on the blog and on Facebook with Websters goodies this month so keep an eye out, also my fellow teamy Jane has made some gorgeous goodies with Graphic 45 papers as part of her application for their DT, they will seriously make you go WOW - here is a link to her blog.

Flowers for the Ladies

Here are some cards that I made for the Tando blog last week - the theme was ladies, so I went floral in a big way and dug out some of my favourite flowery papers (by Crate Paper).  I layered and stitched them and then used my chipboard flower as the centre piece for the card.  As the flowers are white on one side I didn't prep them in anyway, just got out some co-ordinating mists and gave them a spritz of colour - I really like the dramatic effect and the shimmer which you can't quite see in the photo…so left them at that.

The mist colours take really well on the white side of the chipboard and it is a really quick but quite dramatic effect that you can create.

Here is my post over at Tando.
