This Makes me Happy

Earlier in the year we went skating and it happened to coincide with Shaun the Sheep being there to help launch his movie.  We got to make cupcakes  and then Shaun appeared on the ice and for photos - after a bit of debate both the kids decided that Shaun was cool enough to have their photos with!

I over-exposed the photo in the editing software on my phone and printed it 4" square then used a corner rounder (something I've not used in a while!) and made a poloroid style photo mount.  The papers are from Crate Papers Craft Market and a little bit of the Confetti range too (left over my classes at the ATDML retreat) - they are beautiful complete with gold foiling and golden glitter that doesn't come off!  The base of my page was covered in gesso, then ink and embossing powder in greys, blues and golds.  I then drew some circles in pencil around and started to layer up my papers.  I mixed in a material coaster from the pound store and some muslin.  As there were quite a few layers on my page stapling it made it easier to work with and went with the silvery theme too.  The finishing details were some little pearls ands sticker stars.

Museum Love and Day Trips - free classes

Here are the 2 pages that I made for my Virtual Crop Class over at ATDML - you can download the instructions for free from here.  I used the Public Library papers by October Afternoon, and the slightly vintage feel went well with some of my photos from the Natural History Museum (yes I love that place - not only for it's contents but also because the building is so pretty!).  I had a play with creating an ombre effect with the papers too, and a resist technique on the alphabet.

For my second page I used diamonds - there are lots of pages with this sort of design on, so I don't know where the idea originated from to credit it, so here is my version.  I hand cut embellishments to decorate the diamonds - with my boat and cloud, I also did some layering to create a bit of texture too.

Pool Time

We got to choose our papers at the ATDML retreat for this months DT pages - I got some Kaisercraft Blue Bay - just beautiful colours (Denise also did a lovely class with them).   For this page I started with gesso, and then added some splatters of distress stains.  Lots of tearing of papers, and then layering of lace and some sequin strings I got from Baker Ross and seem to be very trendy in the Scrapbooking world at the moment.  I made the frame with air dry clay (again Baker Ross) and a Martha Stewart mould, then used the distress stains to colour it, and rubbed some silver ink over the top to pick out the details.

I also added some stamping to the corners in silver using a Tim Holtz stamp, then in blue a newspaper stamp and in black some post office style stamps.  The cog is from 7 gypsies, the shell I just had! the washi tape is by glitz.

This is a holiday photo from last year - we have lots of pool time photos!  Also today is the Virtual Crop over at ATDML so there are 3 free classes and a challenge you can have a go at.  Here it the link.

Easter Eggs

Here is my take on the sketch over at My Creative Sketches.  I used Teresa Collins' Something Wonderful papers, inspired by their DT pages I added lots of torn layers at the bottom of my page, I used ink and distress stains on the main patterned paper to add a bit more of the Easter egg colours.  The journalling is on a little pull out tab behind the top photo.  For the stripes I layered up paper and some MME foiled and glittery tapes.  I had a go at making my own title and hand cut the letters, just adding a few black edges to make them stand out a little more.

More photos of the Easter Egg hunt that was a huge hit (organised by Grandma) and my youngest enjoying being in charge of sharing out the eggs with his younger cousins.

The O2

At the ATDML retreat there was a photo challenge and some pictures to be inspired by....but I don't have that bit to show you, basically the thin paper at the top and wider bit down the bottom was the in the photo, so I went with that.  I used Websters Pages Beautiful Chic - which has quite a lot of turquoise and pink which went really well with my O2 pictures.  The large photo is a cropped 6 by 4 and the smaller ones are 2" square.  I layered up lots of bits and mounted my photo and title on woodgrain paper, there is a Kaisercraft Blue Bay door in there too, as well as some Hall Pass stickers and Prima wood veneers.

Explore

I love this tree trunk patterned paper from Websters Beautiful Chic collection, I started the page off with some spritz of gold mist, they give a really nice glimmer, then I used some green and brown ink with a sequin waste style stencil....then went onto layering up the papers which are again from the Beautiful Chic collection.  I had a really good delve through my stash and used a Crate Paper chipboard frame that I backed with a vellum doily from Websters, there is a Prima Bark heart, a Simple Stories banner and alphabet and some American Crafts wooden chevrons and Teresa Collins stickers...almost something from every manufacturer!

The photo is from our holiday in France last year and a little cave in a gorge, that you just have to go and explore!  My album with pocket pages is nearly finished from that holiday - it is a mix of papers, but I try to keep the pockets with the same ranges.

Happy Moments Together

A really straightforward page from me today using Websters Beautiful Chic and some gorgeous prima flowers.

I started with the Beautiful Chic paper at the top of my page and added a line of some really old WRMK velvet tape underneath,  then a vellum frame and doily.  Lots of flowers as this was a girly page and one of the Websters metal hearts.  I used a prima gold mist for the spray drops and also some little golden pearls by hobby house.  The title are some stickers from Kaisercrafts Kaleidoscope collection.

A shot of my Mum and I on holiday in France :)

Here and Now

This was the second page from Debbie Jewells class at the ATDML retreat and used all the little 3 by 4 cards that come in the I Am papers - again lots of lovely gold foiling too - it was really nice and easy page to put together, with lots of layering of stickers and chipboard.

I used it to document a photo of my children at Easter, it looks like a hug....and the 2nd photo reveals that it was a take out your younger brother hug!!!!

Fun and Explore

Here is a page from Ann Freemans Fancy Pants Trendsetter class, I love the papers and their bright colours.  For the first page we made squares out of circles, then added some sequins and banners.

I think this is my favourite page from the class - lots of triangles and we filled them with sequins, which was fiddly but well worth it!
