Explore with Simple Stories

Hello, I'm back from my holidays and had loaded up some more blog posts which I thought I could edit whilst I was travelling....but without a laptop it isn't so easy so I thought I would save it 'til I got back....so these pages are a little older.

Here is one that I made for the Cybercrop we had at A Trip Down Memory Lane in July...if you want to check out all the classes you can find them here.  So my page was meant to be themed along tickets....though I obviously went on a bit of tangent and did tags, which are a little bit light tickets...maybe :) I used the Simple Stories You are Here papers and cut out lots of tags in different sizes then I added washi tape and little bits of patterned paper to them before layering them all up behind my photo.  I should say that I started with a good paint flicking session using watered white gesso, brown, blue and green cosmic shimmer mists.  Once I had my photo on (which is my from our holiday in the Peaks and in the Dovedale area - a gorgeous part of the country) I then added some of the little ephemera embellishments that come with this collection and I punched out some stars and added enamel dots too.

I shall be back a little more often, and with some more BoBunny pages too, plus lots of photos from my rather adventurous holiday!

Pool Time

Another page using Simple Stories You are Here which was in my kit from A Trip Down Memry Lane.  I started the page by splitting it into thirds and using the blue chevron print at the bottom, I covered the join with a punched piece and one of the stickers in the kit.  I added 2 pool shots centrally and then used some of the embellishments you get in this kit, I love the little cameras and Polaroids. I created some little clusters around my photos and then around the title space, the papers work ally well with the other pastel ranges that Simple Stories do, so I added some washi tape strips from an older collection. I finished it off with some enamel dots.

The photos are from our holiday last year, but in 2 different pools, I did a little bit of photo editing with them too to bring out the blues.

Paradise

This month Mel and Jill sent me lots of Simple Stories You are Here to work with, I went for a very white space look to this page.  I looked at the colours in the pages and realised that they went really well with the colours in this sunset shot that I took when we camped in May.  I mixed my self some watercolour using dried marigold, and added a layer behind my photo, then loads of little sprinkles - they don't all show up in the photo.  I then added a layer of gold net, then 3 layers of the different papers in this range, and I made a little tag with Ann's stamping up tag punch.  Just a few flowers, a word from the ephemera pack and some blue washi tape that went with the baby range that Simple Stories did a few release a go - I like that their colour palettes all flow into each other so you can use bits from other collections.

The photo was on an iPhone and was just a 'see how it goes' type snap, the scenery is the Peak District and the whole area is really beautiful.

You and Me

Here is my paintier page and I was inspired by the watercolour and circles in this page by Missy Whidden - which is beautiful.  I had a play with lots of watercolour using some Tim Holtz distress inks, and also the same effect on some chipboard - I really like the mix of rainbow colours and how all the inks run into each other.  Tearing and distressing, quite a few of the rainbow view finders to make it a colourful summery page!  Here is a link to the class Summer Lovin.

These shots are from our holiday in France which has a fantastic beach for body boarding - and it has life guards which is great - the kids love it and once they are covered in cream and rash vests they are just in the sea for hours!  I need to get them some surf lessons!

Look out for this months Cybercrop with A Trip Down Memory Lane....I have a class appearing in it!

A perfect Day

Here is another page that I made for the A Trip Down Memory Lane Cybercrop - I got to use some Simple Stories Good Day Sunshine papers - they come in beautiful colours and I love the woodgrain papers too. This page is fairly clean and simple for me, just a little bit of distressing and some stitching!  You can find the class here - it's called Summer Lovin.

The photo is from our holiday in France last year and my youngest is heading out towards the rock pools....it looks fairly empty but it wasn't really!  I'll be back with the next more messy page in a couple of days!
