Do More of What Makes You Happy

I got to play with 2 new Kaisercraft lines from A Trip Down Memory Lane, this one is Ubud Dreams, which is a beautiful mix of blues and woodgrains.  I started with some Pentart paints and dry brushed silver and teal acrylic - the teal went really well with the colours in these papers.  I cut out several of the tiles from the Kemala paper and then layered up some of the stickers that matched on foam pads.  I used the reverse of the Kemala paper with the rich, brown woodgrain at the top and base of my page.  I also added some of the paper embellishments and a few more stickers to document my photos.

The pictures are from our holiday last year...it was fairly busy with lots of touring and sight-seeing, my favourite part of New York was Central Park and we stopped there on our way from the Metropolitan Museum of Art...the kids really enjoyed playing in the playgrounds and just running around the park.

Altered Art with Faith

I made these arrows, which I twisted around to be houses to go in some photo frames for my wall...however with the reflection on the glass you couldn't see the images so well...so here they are lined up...but they will be in frames.

The chipboard base was an older Maya Road set, I covered it in gesso, and then added texture paste using the BoBunny dotty mask, I then had a play with some of the new pentart mixed media inks - which are really fun alcohol based inks.  You also get a diluter so you can create drips.  I used this for both of the blue houses.

I used some bronze metallic wax around the edges to add some sparkle.  Whilst it was dry I used the Faith light bulb stamps and cut them out.  I then wound florist wire around the houses and attached my light-bulbs to it with foam pads.  I used a mixture of paper and the noteworthy collection to add banners across, and tucked in a few sequins.

I used lots of the pentart creamy acrylics, I stamped and cut  out my "Be the Light", so I knew where to focus my paint.  I also added in some seed beads and some glitter paste, and just made the whole piece very textured.

Here is the other half of my "Be the Light" sandwich - made in the same way as the first.

Believe with BoBunny Faith

I really enjoyed making this paper with the new and beautiful Faith collection by Bobunny.  There is a whole and more detailed blog post on the BoBunny blog here is the link.  I went with a patchwork style pattern and dug out my sewing machine as well for this.  A little bit of paint and some of the gold foiled vellum in this collection, as well as the beautiful cut-a-part papers.  The colours have a warm and spring like feel to them and were perfect for my photo, and to document a few of my thoughts about my eldest.

I don't usually stitch through 2 layers of paper, but did for this project so I ended up stitching in diagonal and horizontal lines which gives a slightly different effect.

Here you can see some of that beautiful foiled vellum which is also packed with colours.
