Spring with BoBunny

I made this using the beautiful Faith papers from BoBunny - I started with some glitter paste, and then added some of the pentart pink paints and blended it into the pinky background.  Once that was dry I layered up some of the papers and added some little roses that I painted with pink ink and some petrol coloured pearls.  I added chipboard and some of the ephemera pack and then added my foil title with BoBunny's foils - which were really easy to use (though I still struggle to get anything straight on my page - I should really draw lines!

Here is the foiled title.

You can see the rose tipped flowers and Faith noteworthy elements.

Here is a close up of some of the painting and glitter paste.

Adventure with no patterned papers

Each month Ann sets us a challenge over in the ATDML#Create group and this month it is to use no patterned papers.  I'd seen a few pages that were more art journalling and had techniques with brayers and paints, and just decided to give it a go with my Pentart acrylics.  I started with yellow and then added in 2 different shades of green and a little gold, all on my brayer (really I should have got an even covering on my brayer, but I just went straight to the card stock!).  Once this had dry I drew around several different style circles, and then added some stamping in red and grey inks.  I also used my Tando gears stencil and aubergine and cream acrylics to add some gears.  Next I had a go at using my brayer with some distress ink, there was not smooth ombre effect for me!  Possibly the paper or my brayer, but I didn't let that stop me and used the bubble wrap stamp over the top and punched out some stars and also a circle, and then punched the inner out with a smaller circle.  I added a little bit of washi tape and some Heidi swap glittery stickers...and that is it - so mostly just paint.

If you fancy joining in the challenge or getting some more inspiration then check out our group here.

Family Time with Kaisercraft

Here is a page I made with Kaisercraft's Cherry Tree Lane and a little video I made of it too.  Lots of tearing and a bit of inky mist as well as a bit of playing with some alterations dies from sizzix too.  The papers were from my kit from A Trip Down Memory Lane - I've just got back from teaching at their retreat too, so I have loads of pages to show you.  Also this weekend is another Virtual Crop - even if you are busy with Easter fun on Saturday you will still be able to check out the classes and join in afterwards.

Here are some close ups of the details.

Forever in my Heart

I made a slightly messier page using Kaisercrafts' Cherry Tree Lane - I started with red and gold mists, which I puddled and then tilted the page forwards so I could get some drips.  Once this was dry I added some texture paste too around the area that the photo was going to go.  I layered up lots of the flowers from the Kaisercraft embellishment pack - using coma pads to add dimension. I distressed and layered my paper and used some mesh ribbon to add a little more texture too.  The butterfly and imagine stamps are from BoBunny and the hessian stamp is one of Kaisercrafts.

Here are some close ups.

I stamped the butterflies in gold ink

You can see the mesh ribbon under one of the ephemera frames that goes with these papers.

Here you can see a bit more of the texture paste and the mists which were cosmic shimmer ones.

lots of little embellishment clusters with echoes of the texture paste and mesh,

Life was meant for great adventure

Even more Kaisercraft Ubud Dreams - I love the colours in these papers and the Moroccan style patterns.  A little while back I bought a craft magazine with a hexagon die on, so I had to use it - I like having a die for hexagons as they are really hard to cut out accurately!  I began the page with the 1/3 2/3 rule for my papers, and then added some cream pentart acrylic around where my photos and hexagons were going.  I die cut lots of hexagons and randomly spaced them on my page.  I created  little cluster at the bottom and added a frame from the Kaisercraft ephemera pack that goes with these papers.  A few stickers and doilies with a little bit of brown inking.

The photos are from our holiday and just a typical rock climbing expedition.

When You're Laughing

Some more Ubud Dreams from ATDML today, and a bit more of the Pentart acrylic paint....I love this teal green colour.  The page started with a mix of white acrylic and the teal acrylic, I also watered some of the teal down to add some flicks of paint - the pigment in the colour is so high that the colours don't loose their strength even with water.  I used lots of the Kaisercraft embellishments and layered up lots of the doilies for this page as well as the frames and the title came from the bottom of one of the papers. I added a few little embellishments that co-ordinated in the blues, wrapped some silver thread and added white sequins.

The photos are my son mucking around with a cardboard cut out that came on a birthday card - there is something about these that just makes me smile as you just look totally ridiculous!  Quite fitting for April fools day!

I'll be back with some more Kaisercraft in a couple of days.
