Sunshine Travel Journal with BoBunny

You can see some more details about this on the BoBunny blog...I have lots of pictures.  Early in the summer we took a quick trip to Wales and I decided to have a go at creating my own travel journal.  After a little research I decided to have a go at some Coptic binding, so you sew each layer to make the book, and the plus is that it creates a sturdy book that opens flat, which is perfect when you need to stick and glue stuff down and don't want the pages to get stuck together!

I added lots of photos and created some little journal spots that I took with me.  I also used a few of the different Bobunny stamp sets, and had watercolored in some of the Woodland Critters and added some of their planner stamps to my journalling to make it look a little more pretty.

I kept the pages fairly clean and simple as I didn't really have the luxury of lots of paints in my tent!  I did start this book when we were away.

I love the bear stamp in the Woodland Critters collection, and I know there aren't any bears in Wales, but they are lovely :)  I also added one of the emoji die cuts too.

This world is a Canvas

Here is another page I made with my ATDML kit using Graphic45's Nature Sketchbook.  I started with some strips of torn paper down the centre and then added a little bit of stencilling with black gesso, I also used some pentart wax over the top to bring out the stencilling.  I added my photo and fuzzy cut a butterfly, dragonfly and weather.  I then layered up some of the card stock flowers from this collection, curling the edges and adding a fuzzy black brad to the centre.  I used one of the journal cards as my title as they have beautiful phrases on them.

Here you can see some of the wax on the stencilled gesso, as well as the flowers and butterfly.

More layered flowers with a few gems hidden amongst them.  I love the blue.

There is a really nice assortment of phrases on the journal cards in this collection, here is just one of them.

Beach with BoBunny

Morning everyone, here is some more Down by the Sea with BoBunny - this is just one of the pages I made for the blog - it was one layout 3 ways - so if you want to see the steps to get to this point then check it out here.

I'm not normally a very pink sort of scrapper, but I really liked the pinks in this sunset photo and it just grew from there.  I added lots of pentart paints in golds and pink as well as some of the new glamour paints they have - they are full of sparkle and so pretty - you can see little bits of them in the close ups.

I added some shells that came from a 70s style necklace...and have proven very useful!

You can see some of the Noteworthy and chipboard pieces in the collection as well as the sparkly 3D chipboard.

I still use the viewfinder die as a go to layer on my travel pages, I added some stencilling and texture paste as well as stamping and gauze....lots of layers on this page!

Life is a Journey with BoBunny

This is an old frame, that had been a different incarnation for a Cybercrop by ATDML ages ago.  I freshened it up with Pentart paints and crackle glaze and then used BoBunny stencils and the Serendipity papers as well as a large BoBunny bloom.

I used lots of different mixed media products on this - bead paste, 3d balls, texture paste and metallic paints.

I used brayers, my fingers and paint brushes too!

The thick stencils from BoBunny give you a really deep image.

I toned down the pink flower with a bit of white gesso so it blended in better with my frame.

Ocean with BoBunny

So you know how you get these little boxes with wood veneer embellishments in - I decided to paint one and make it into a little ocean frame.  I used BoBunny's Down by the Sea papers for this, and started off coating my shadow box in white gesso, then some crackle medium and after that some Pentart blue acrylic - which I also mixed with white gesso to get the different shades.  I added lots of 3D stones in the base of my frame to make the rocky bottom of the sea and covered some gauze in blue paint to make a fishermans net.  I added a few die cuts, and then stuck all my bits on.  For the finishing touches I added pearls to the nets and then some of the silver confetti paste - which is the little sparkly hexagons.

I also used some gold metallic glamour paint (loving this product) to add a bit of sparkle.

Here you can see my net - the paint made the gauze more stiff so it holds it's shape really well.

Cards with Serendipity

I am not a confident card maker but was pleasantly surprised with how these turned out.  I used BoBunny's Serendipity papers, and their Congratulations die set.  I had a go at a stepper card - which was quite fiddly - mainly as it took me a while to work out the mats that I needed and sized for the paper - but it was worth it.  I added some flowers and a little butterfly from the papers, lots of inking and a little gold paint.

Here is my 2nd version of the same sort of card - I cut out some of the elements from the paper packs like the feathers and big pink circle.  I used the little doily die cut and added some bead paste for a little subtle sparkle on the feathers and butterfly.

You can see the shimmer of the gold paint.

This shows you the bead paste and some more gold metallic paint too.

Enjoy the Little Things

In July we were sent lots of Graphic 45 papers from A Trip Down Memory Lane, and I decided to try a true layered, lots of pattern Graphic 45 type page - not my normal style.  I did lots of gutting and layering, fussy cutting and then added some pearlescents around the edges of my papers.  It's not my normal style but it was really fun to have a go at.

I fussy cut out the stamps and the Joy tag.

I layered up lots of different papers, and you can see the little pearl drops , there are even a few gems in there too.

The heart is a BoBunny die, and I added some bead paste to it.  I also punched out some little butterflies using my Martha Stewart punch.

Happiness and more Distress Oxides

Still playing with distress oxides and Graphic 45!  I used the same sort of effect but on kraft, something that you would struggle to get the colours with, but the new oxides do come out beautifully on kraft.  I again used Nature Sketchbook, more flowers, this time just layered and then decorated with a Martha Stewart leaf punch and a Tando chipboard leaf set.  I added some of the little paper circles that come in the flower set, and a little bit of lace too.

I stapled the lace onto the journal card to hold it in place.

You can see some of the layers of oxide inks.

I used foam pads to raise up some of the flowers and tucked buttons in around the sides too.

Wild and Free with Distress Oxides

Ever since I saw the new distress oxides come out, I wanted to have a play with them, I love the way that you can layer the colours and the chalky effects you get with them.  I teamed them up with Graphic 45's Nature Sketchbook.  I used a technique where I put some of the ink on a plastic bag, spritzed it with water and then printed it on the paper, drying in-between layers.  I loaded up my colours and once I was happy I also added some stamping with a BoBunny text stamp.

I layered and fussy cut some of the images from Nature Sketchbook, I love the butterflies.  I also layered up some of the Graphic45 flowers, curling the edges.

The photo is from our holiday in the Peak District - and one of our long ambling walks...it is so beautiful there.

Let the Sea Set you Free

I had a go at some acrylic pouring for BoBunny using their Down by the Sea collection and lots of Pentart paints.  It was lots of fun to do - quite messy - it did involve me covering a tray in a plastic bin bag and using a few plastic cups, but I love the results.

You can see more details here.

Here you can see all the colours running - it dries slightly differently to how it looks when it's wet as the paint still moves a little bit.

I used lots of the Noteworthy from the Down by the Sea collection as well as the new Mandala die.

Flowers and 3D balls and lots of gold glamour paint!
