Felt Flowers
At the weekend we went to a craft fair with my inlaws and came across a stall with offcuts of very nice fabric that had been felted. After a bit of browsing around the internet I came across this tutorial from Yoonie. It is really easy and makes a great broach, I made this one for my Mum, she likes greys and blues. The beads were from our christmas crackers (I knew I had collected them for a pupose :)).

Happy Birthday
This is my LO for last weeks pallette challenge on Ukscrappers. The papers are City Park bt American crafts. I choose my base piece of paper and then wanted to contine the circles onto the background sheet so I stitched and then did some printing with a paint lid. I made the cupcake using my paper ribbler and had a go at one of the paper bows I keep seeing around a lot at the moment. I used my MS doily edge punch and folded up the strip of paper down the side of the photo, added some ribbon and hearts, and some lace (I coloured in the centre of the flowers with my pro-markers). Here are some close ups.
This weeks challenge was to use and advert for your inspiration, so go have a look and see what everyone has been creating, and if you would like to join in with next weeks then the theme is song lyrics.

Birthday Girl (scrapfactor auditions)
Happy Easter everyone.
This LO is done using the American Crafts city park papers and a picture of me and my Grandad on my 2nd birthday. I used my martha stewart lace edge punch and then folded it around the central square (I also inked the edges of it with a little rose distress ink). I threaded my buttons on a piece of string making knots to hold them roughly in place before I stuck them down. One of the flowers is an American crafts one that came with the kit, the other flowers are made using my circle flowers tutorial. I used a few American crafts stickers and My Little Shoebox creme brulee for the title, a bit of acrylic paint and this is what you get. This is the last of my audition LOs for UKscrappers - remember to pop over and vote for your favourite piece of work - you can vote in the bottom 2 until sunday and then on Monday morning new LOs will be published and the theme is to base it on an advert. Also remember you have until Sunday night to join with the base your LO on an advert challenge and you will be in with a chance of winning some goodies.

I (Ukscrappers scrapfactor)
This is one of those rare LOs that I had to do about me. I chose the prima pastiche and flights of fancy papers. I started by stamping and embossing some dragonflies and a border stamp, I used white embossing powder. I then used a watercolour wash over it. I cut some of the butterflies from the flights of fancy paper and watered down some stickles and popped that over them. I made some roses and used some rock candy on them, lots of crinkling and inking, a few K and Co rubbons that I put onto card so I could move them around and this is what I came up with. Here are the close ups.

Legoland - double layout (scrapfactor - ukscrappers)
This one of my favourite challenges for the scrapfactor contest as I hadn't done a double LO page in ages. The papers are mostly Cosmo Cricket - togetherness (love that range) but there is a little October afternoon in there as I didn't have enough yellow to go across the 2 pages. Ages ago I did a WOYWW and had some yellow and blue splattered card...in mind for this, but when I picked the photos and papers I realised read and brown paint worked better...so I splatter and stamped with various circular household items the background. I crinkled and ruffled and distressed all my papers and laced a bit with some more house hold string....to keep this impressively masculine and flower free (for me anyway) I used star bunting (cuttlebug 4 sizes of star die set) and hung it on little red buttons. A tim holtz ticket and american craft thickers for the title, some hidden journalling and this is what you get. Here are the close ups....
Go see what everyone has created.
Voting starts today for week 1 and if you go to the homepage of ukscrappers and then follow the instructions you get to the gallery of lovely pages created by all the contestants. Please go and have a look as I know lots of hard work has gone into all the creations over there and there are lots beautiful pages, also the new challenge for this week has been launched and you can play along too with the chance to win a prize. Right Now ukscrappers- scrap factor
Here is one of the layouts that I did for my auditions for ukscrappers scrap factor. The challenge for this was to do a non photo LO so this was my first go at one, still not sure about it, I should have picked the colour pens the kids used for their pictures!!! I asked them to draw a picture of themselves and write what they liked at the moment. It was a bit of a struggle to match the colours and the best I could do was K and Co Wild Saffron papers, ruffled and distressed them, then added some brown paint circle prints. Bit of recycling not this LO as the hearts are made out of an old coke can, I cuttlebugged it and then embossed it and used black stazon to pull out the embossed swirls. Some fake stitching and a sticker lace that I got in a costco kit. The stamps 'family is a patchwork of love' is from a creative expressions sewing set of stamps.
I have been busy working on my LO for this weeks colour palette scrapfactor challenge. You can join in to and there are some goodies to be won.
Here are some close ups of the LO.

Creating a Stamp edge....with a flower punch :)
Amy asked how I did the stamp edge effect on You and Me, so this is what I used to do it. A circle punch would probably be easier than the flower, but the flower is all I had!! So above are the items you need.
The first thing I did was to measure the size of the semi circle I could make with the flower punch (this is a woodware 5cm punch)
The size of my semi-circle work out to be 1.7cm
The next step is to mark out the edge of the sheet of paper, I was allowing 1.7cm for my punch and then a 1cm gap inbetween - start from the corner with the 1cm gap, then mark along so it would be 1, 1.7, 1, 1.7 - and carry on til your cardstock edge is as big as you want it to be - remember to make sure you finish on a 1cm.
Then start lining the punch up with the dots and work your way along the cardstock. Don't worry if you accidentally catch a bit of the 1cm area with the punch as you can always trim it - that should make sense when you do this.
For the corners you need to always make sure you have the 1cm at the corner and not finish on a semi circle.
Ink the edges and here is your stamp shaped cardstock :)

Exciting news - UK Scrapfactor
A while back they launched the scrapfactor contest on Ukscrappers. So I thought I would have a go - it was great doing the audition LOs (though I can't share them yet) as you had to scrap one about you, a double page and a non-picture one - so those stretched me and I really enjoyed it. Well today they have announced the contestants here and I am there with lots of other talented scrappers. So excited, my heart is still beating quite fast - bit nervous and very happy. So please pop over to UKscrappers and have a look at all our creations - they are going to be posted every Monday :).
I will be back tomorrow and do a little tutorial for how I did the stamp edge on my You and Me LO as Amy asked how :)

You and Me - Pencil Lines sketch
This is my 1st go at one of the pencil line sketches and this is number 232. I have a few old shots of me that were left over from albums I have done for my parents. So this is one of my Dads pictures of me and my Mum. I need to show it to her to find out when it was taken and where we were and I have some hidden journalling behind the photo that I can fill up with all the details. The papers I have used are Cosmo Cricket Togetherness, all on some bazzill kraft. The title is made with American Thickers, and you can see the martha stewart doily lace punch - I just got it....I have been umming over it for a while, don't know why I waited so long :). The rose ribbon is part of a headband and the stamp shape backing paper behing the photo I made using a fair bit of measuring and my large flower punch (a circle punch would have been ideal for that). The roses are made using a quilling technique I made a few flowers, but really wanted roses...even had a go at oragami...but these were the best. I cut out leaves and added some prima crystals. The butterflies are martha stewart, I have layered the monarch butterfly with the smaller one. Here are the close ups.

Heart Frame - Home is where the Heart is
For this project I used up some of my left over my little shoebox papers. I made some roses and some spiral flowers, they are all stuck on watercolour paper which I brushed a rosey wash over. Once the flowers were all stuck down I then added some liquid pearls around the edge, a Martha Stewart butterfly, and watercoloured some more paper with the co-ordinating duck egg colour to write some of my title on. A few lace and buttons at the bottom and a bit of glitter and this is what I came up with.

Merry Go Round
This LO is from a trip to legoland last year - it was a gorgeous day and we had lots of fun :) The papers are from the My Little Shoebox Home Sweet Home collection. They are beautiful papers and lend themselves to a bit of cutting, hence all the tree arms sticking from the side of the page - though a few of those are Maya Road chipboard covered in brown ink (there are also some paper covered maya road birds too). I cut out the little collection of trees and the birdhouse at the bottom of the page and added some faux stitching. Around the edge of the square I used my Martha Stewart double loop punch, and I hung the title from the tree with some ribbon. Here are the close ups :)
