UTEE Beads
I am guest designing for scrap revolution this month and they sent me some lovely goodies in the post so pop over and have a look at their blog to see some of my creations. Here is something that I created with what I had left over - the flower is a maya road chipboard piece painted and dipped in UTEE, and I made the beeds from Suze Winebergs tutorial - they are Jillibean - Chicken Noodle soup papers and I cut a strip 6" by 1" in a triangle and then rolled it around a pencil to make the bead, once glued and dried I dunked it in some clear UTEE. I did reheat the UTEE with my heat gun after dunking in the melt pot to get rid of bubbles and give a more even coverage of UTEE.

Friends
This is my week 5 enterance for scrapfactor, the theme was to focus on a single photo. I used MME Jack and Jill cardstock as it went really well with those UTEE roses that I made a few weeks back. I started with thet photo and popped it on white paper, edged it with red felt tip and then doodled a frame. I cut out a rectangle and added a stamped edge using my flower punch, and then layered up some other pieces of paer on each side. I scrumpled and ruffled and stitched around my sheets of paper and once happy with the LO I stuck them down, then using a denby dinner plate drew a circle around the LO in pencil and stitched over it on my machine. I added some red ink drops (I didn't have a thin straw so I used a q-tip and snipped off the cotton wool ends - worked quite well as a dripper!). I added the title - papermania stickers, and then stamped the rest of the quote and cut it out. I added some journalling, making a bead frame with PVA, then added my UTEE roses, some leaves and some MS butterflies that I had covered in glossy accents.
This is a beautiful photo of my son and one of the few girls that he really gets on with - he has known her since he was very young and they are more like siblings who get on well.
Here is the peak of the LO that is in the Week 6 gallery at the moment - the challenge for this one is to use lots of photos on the LO - so go and have a look at what everyone has come up with.

Eight
This is my week 4 challenge for scrapfactor, and the challenge was creative journalling. This LO is based on my DS and gave me the chance to write down a bit about his character...and behind the journalling are some journal sticks that have included some of his most memorable quotes and moments (I still need to add one from a 1st Holy Communion we went to yesturday - a little bell rings several times during communion, and my kids both kept asking me why and as it was sooo quite I said I would tell them after...he turns to me and says 'does it mean that its nearly lunchtime?' -made me smile). For this LO I used some memory stor paper (costco kit) for the backing and spritzed it with firebrick distress ink and perfect pearls. I made the stamped edge piece out of some K and Co paper, and added the red cosmo circket paper behind the photo - have ruffled and stitched it. To the side of the photo is a sassafrass paper border from indie girl, and there is a doily lace punched border along the bottom from crate papers restoration line. For the journalling I inked the edges of the paper, and then printed out several words in a type font off the computer and then stuck and stitched them on. I sewed a swirl in red embroidery thread - it is based on a prima flourish, and then I added some swirl paper roses (courtesy of Pam Thorburns tutorial) and added a pearl in the middle and a few leaves. I also cut out a few small circles (sizzix die) and stitched them in the corner....so here are the close ups.
I mentionned the UTEE cabachon style roses last week...and I was asked where I was going to use them....which prompted me to use them on this LO - it is my week 5 scrapfactor LO, and the challenge was to focus on just one photo. I made a few more roses for it too - please pop over and have a look and see all the lovely creations in the gallery.
Last but by no means least I had some more lovely news on Friday that I was the winner in Handmade Hannahs giveaway, so I have been spending on the lovely goodies in her shop - THANK YOU.

You're Beautiful
Here is my week 3 scrapfactor page, it had to be based on a song title and You're Beautiful was number one when my DS was born so it seemed appropriate. I used the Crate Paper Restoration collection for this, and found a great tutorial on scrap a little by Lisa for some ribbled and punched flowers. Also in there is some green water coloured paint that I had to blow down the paper to get the drips, a Tim Holtz tag. I spritzed and dabbed the doily with distress ink. I made some leaves for the flowers by wrapping green cartstock around some green wire and inking them. I machine stitched a little fringe and added buttons to the ends. The title is handwritten and behind the photo is some journalling talking about the choice of song. Here are some close ups.
This week we had to focus on journalling, so here is a sneak peak of mine. Please pop over to ukscrappers and have a look at all the work in the gallery :)

Cabachon Style UTEE Roses
We popped to the shops yesturday and had promised the kids that if they were good they could get something from the poundshop:). I came across these silicon chocolate moulds - I have been looking for some molds for UTEE and in the pack I got 2 roses, a scalloped heart, square, diamond, 2 circles and star. So I dug the roses out this afternoon and had some clear UTEE in my pot to play with already, I added a couple of drops of the orange dye and then mixed it in (that is the right hand rose) and for the second added some of the magenta dye. I was really pleased with the way they turned out and how easy they were to make.

Thank you Card
Here is a thank you card I made using MLS Home Tweet Home papers. I covered the card with some of the place to nest paper, and also cut out a couple of flowers that I layered onto the cards. The 2 birds are from the birds of a feather paper, I used some creme paper and the MS lace punch to create the lacey frill around the birds - I also inked the tips of the lace with tattered rose distress ink. A little bit of ribbon and a button, and some creme brulee letters to finish it off.

You are my Sunshine
I've been enjoying the sunshine...we a quick camping holiday, can't believe how beautiful it has been :) Here is my LO from last weeks scrapfactor challenge. It had to be based on an advert, so mine is based on this advert for some sinks :) I used quite a lot of different papers for this - some My Little Shoebox, October Afternoon, American Crafts and Jillibean soup. I watered down some acrylic paint to make the splattered effect and stitched and distressed all the papers. The hot air balloons are die cut circles folded and then stitched down the middle, I made the baskets out of corrugate cardboard and added some ribbon. It is a photo from a visit to Knebworth House - the slides were great and this is one of my favourite shots (courtesy of my DH). So here is the advert and some close ups.
This weeks theme on ukscrappers is to use song lyrics and here is a sneak peak - I found another flower tutorial courtesy of scrap a little and Lisa - so pop over and have a look at all the lovely creations in the week 3 gallery
