This weekend the ATDML cybercrop is happening, starting tonight at 6pm - there are loads of free classes and if you check out the blog (here) you can find a list of supplies and also the timetable. It will be packed with challenges and different techniques and lots of fun and chatter. Also join us on Facebook too (ATDML Create) and upload your creations there. My class is on Saturday night...but here are some peaks....

Marion Smith Mini Book
Here is my last project with the Marion Smith papers - I mostly used a 6 by 6 Garment and District pad for this mini - it starts with the cover which is tied in garden twine and I used one of my Baker Ross air dry clay embellishments - I used cookie cutters to make the heart and then stamped into it (do the stamping before cutting out the heart) and covered it in silver paint.
So you open the flaps and there are some photos and lots of room for journalling
Then the next flap - which has a pocket for a photo an more pictures.
This is the book completely open and in the middle is a mini book.
Here is the front cover - I used lots of punching and a Baker Ross doily - and mixture of embellishments.
Lots of instagrams and more doilies
Some little glitz letters and journalling.
So that documents one of our mini-holidays this year!

Durdle Door - with a sketch
Here is a page that I made using some beautiful Kaisercraft papers and has already appeared on the ATDML blog. It is based on the monthly sketch by Scrap365 - I love a sketch to start me off, and actually I ended up only using inks, texture paste, lace, pearls and stickers.
I started with some pink tattered angles mist, and ran some drips and then used a studio calico mask on top once it had all dried. I tucked the big Kaisercraft floral sticker behind the photo and some Websters Lace underneath, then a couple of ruler arrows (again some Kaisercraft stickers) and a Glitz scrabble alphabet with a couple of pearls by Hobby House. It was really quick to put together but I love it.

Happy - Printers Tray
Some more Marion Smith goodness in a Tando printers tray - I started by painting all the chipboard with gesso, then misting it with Cosmic Shimmer mists in brown and blues - I love the amount of mica and glimmer you get in these mists they created a nice background to layer up lace and papers and doilies.
I backed the tray with some a 6 by 6 paper from Marion Smiths Garment and District line, then I stuck the frame together and went about filling the windows with cogs from 7 gypsies, prima lace and wood veneer words and stars, more papers, pearls and a little cabochon rose from paper mania. The bike is one of the trinkets that comes in the Marion Smith embellishment line.
There aren't any photos...it is just a little nice thing to have around and up and makes a nice gift!

Luxury Camping
Here is my 2nd page using Marion Smiths papers from ATDML - and my first go at a split down the middle - I cut my diamond paper in a 1/3 and 2/3 line, then I layered up some other strips of paper in the gap - I used the doily lace punch by Martha Stewart and distressed the edge of the newspaper piece. I then had my journalling on the smaller side of the split, and my photo on the wider part. I layered up photo mounts and placed my photo in a little Polaroid frame that I cut from the papers. I used some of my clay embellishments that I made with air dry clay from Baker Ross and Martha Stewart molds and then wound some prima flowers around the edges and filled the frame with a Marion Smith clock. The last touches were some pearls.
The photo was from a camping trip last year...and when we camp we do luxury and in the photo you can see our pop up washing basket, then a rug - we take heaters, and a wide range of kitchen from bbqs to items like espresso pots...we even have plastic wine glasses!

Some Days
Last month I was sent a beautiful set of Marion Smith papers by ATDML and here is my first page with them. I had a play with a rectangular grid idea and I used my corner rounder on just 2 of the corners to make a sort of tulip shape. I gave the card stock a wash of white paint using a credit card so it was quite a thin layer and then added all my rectangles. Behind the photos I added some more layers of paper, then journalling spots and just some nice little embellishments like the words you and me from a prima optimist box of goodies, the cabochon rose is from Marion Smith, the cog from 7 gypsies, ticket from Tim Holtz and wooden star by Prima too...then some Hobby House gems.
Sometimes my kids just sit and get on with work together - sometimes - so I just had to capture that moment!

Coasters - presents for teachers?
Baker Ross sent me a pack of their coasters to have a play with, they are a great end of year Teachers gift with a cup filled with goodies...so I had a little play with some different effects that you can get on the tiles.
My first I used alcohol inks - red, yellow and some gold, just dripping them on the tile and it makes gorgeous patterns without you having to do very much to them!
For the next I covered the base of my Tile in gold alcohol ink - using a sponge tool and then stuck on some of the bright doilies that Baker Ross have (another fantastic pinterest idea I saw for these is to use spray paint and doilies or lace - they look beautiful)
Lastly I used the ceramic pens and a Zentangle inspired pattern, which was lovely to colour in, I started with the wavy stripes of colour and then went over them with the black pen. The ceramic pens would be great to write personal messages on the coasters for teachers - whether it be a line about needing tea or coffee or a message of thanks.
I covered all the coasters in varnish (just a regular one that I had at home) to protect the paints and inks - which meant I didn't bake the ceramic pens to make them hold fast.

1st Skate and Skating (I know it's summer!)
Ok...completely out of season now, but I thought I'd share them now!! Here is the 2nd class that I did at the ATDML retreat with Simple Stories DIY shop - a beautiful bright coloured range of papers that would work really well for summer too....but my photos are wintry.
The focus for this class was using paint and inks, so my first page we used gesso as a wash over the background of yellow polka dots, and then misted some of the calico banners that come in this range. I cut out lots of frames from on of the papers and arranged them in a v-shaped gallery creating dimension with pop dots.
This page is more inky - we started with some gesso and then creating texture on it using corrugated card, left it to dry over night and then used spray mist - I like the way the the gesso stops the mist sinking into the paper so it gives you clearer edges to the mist. Then we layered up papers and gauze and misted some more banner pieces - trying to create an ombre effect on them and adding a few enamel dots too.
I am up on the ATDML blog today with another misty page here.
