The Search

More Cocoa Vanilla and Hello Sunshine - with a few other papers - I decided I wanted to have a colour toned shade across the top of my page...but I'd saved my star burst yellow paper and used it on my previous page....so I went to Cosmo Cricket, Crate Paper and also Studio Calico for a bit of yellow that toned in.  Then I used lots of Hello Sunshine with some more You Rock stars in there too and a little bit of navy from Wild at Heart - so mostly Cocoa Vanilla collections.

Once I had layered up the top I then used a mix of distress oxides to create a splatter background - fossilised amber, coral, broken china...then layered up my photo with some of the stickers.  I also added lots of the stickers to the layers of paper at the top of the page too.

Here are some close ups to have a look at too.

Sea of Flowers

More summery goodness for you with some pages using Cocoa Vanilla's Hello Sunshine Papers from ATDML and a bit of another collection that is a favourite - You Rock.  I really loved the background paper and did think long and hard about the best way to preserve it and use it!!  I ended up not cutting it at all and went for some hand drawn circles to one side.  I then used my watercolour paints in different shades of yellow and orange ro add lots of little splatters around the edge.  I have been enjoying using these on pages and particularly like the fine splatter in multi-colours.  I then cut out lots of layers and stars and cameras from the papers I had and arranged them around the photo.

I used some of the stickers from Hello Sunshine and went for a mixed stamped/sticker title and added the co-ordinating star burst happy days sticker to the corner of my photo.

It was really fun to make and I love the bright summery colours.

Here are some close ups of my multi-coloured splatters!

Up in the Sky and Flight Deck

A couple of high adrenaline pages for you using 7 Dots Hazy Days papers for a class I created for ATDML.  My youngest had a go on a bungey spring thing and being quite light went very high!  This page used up lots of strips of papers and I added in some inked circles around the photos.

Lots of layers of papers, distressed and inked.

My other page was a lovely rollercoaster ride and for this I added some gesso hash' and some splatters of distress stains to the papers, then layered up cogs around the edges.

Together

Very clean and surprisingly straight - something that I am not that good at!  I also went for a multi-photo page - something that I don't do too much - I had lots of 2" squares left over from a class and decided to use them all up on a page using Summer Splash.  I love the blue-ombre background in this collection and couldn't cut it up, so it became the base.  I then used some of the phrases from Beach Shack to create little squares where I didn't have photos and then added wood veneers and ephemera to embellish around the edges.  Lots of little details but also lots of space too.

Again a little bit of that mesh creeping in as another layer.

I hope you've enjoyed a little bit of summer!

Beach Time

Here is another page using the washed out colours of beach shack and I was inspired to adda bit of washed out distress oxide painting behind my photo too.  I used broken china and also some tea dye and added lots of flicks.  I just roughly went around the area of  my photo with a brush adding little pops of colour.

I used layers at the top and bottom of my page with some more of the mesh and then incorporated lots of the stickers from this collection and a coral-ish wood veneer to match too.  There are lots of beautiful beachy phrases in these papers, so it was easy to find something to match my photos.

You can see a bit more of the paint up close and the layers of stickers.

Furthermore - for the observant amongst you I have added a video tab on my top bar with links to all the videos that I have created, so do check them out.

Sun and Sand

Hi everyone, here is a page I made using Beach Shack from Kaisercraft - it was part of my kit for ATDML.  I love the beachy, sandy, washed look of the papers, and the boardwalk background was perfect for my photos.

I started with a bit of tearing for my photo mounts and echoed this with my title and then layered in some mesh  too - I stapled this to the page.  Having done that it was just a case of layering up some of the embellishments - I used some from Summer Shack too.  The hexagons are all pre-cut stickers which made it really easy to add them in, and I left it there - quite clean and simple with just a little bit of tearing.

I like the texture that the mesh adds to the page.

Here are some of the layers of stickers and embellishments.
