String Flower tutorial

Not posted in a while, been out and about over Easter and taking photos to scrap...rather than scrapping! However I did get the chance to go to Ally Pally with my MIL and here is a demo we saw on the Meiflowers stand, don't have the name of the lady that did it but we got the paper string and lurex from there To begin you need tape, scissors, paper string (though other threads should work fine too - like embroidery thread), a button or centre piece and another colour thread or some lurex for some sparkle.
Stick a small square of sticky tape on the button

Make a loop with the string and bring it back to the centre - these can be as big or small as you want - mine are quite small, probably only an inch in length.

You start building the loops up and you need to put a new layer of tape for each loop to make sure it is all secure

Once you have done the 1st layer completely then work with the same process for the second layer of thread, again sticking small square of tape between each layer.

That's the tape layer ready for the next petal

And once done this is what you get...

Hope you enjoy that!
