ATDML Retreat classes with Pebbles Patio Party....a little bit more summer

Hello everyone, I wanted to share with you a couple of pages I created for one of my classes at the A Trip Down Memory Lane retreat.  It was a fantastic weekend with lots of scrappy friends, plenty of laughter and sharing with ladies I only see a couple of times a year!  It's amazing how a shared interest can build good friends really quickly.

Onto the pages...this one was fairly clean for me - no mess.  I used a starburst die cut from the Star Gazer collection by Kaisercraft (it has a dotty pattern and cream background on the front, but it is pure white on the back and this went better with the papers.  We backed the bursts and layered it all up, using the co-ordinating word stickers - really easy as long as you stick the papers on the back as you cut them out (otherwise it can take a rather long time to work out the puzzle and how to get it together!

There is a beautiful paper in this collection with lots of lovely words and phrases on.

I had to use the watermelon papers as this was a summer page!

The next layout used up lots of off-cuts - we used a triangle template and then arranged these on the page.  A bit of fussy cutting of blossoms and butterflies, more of the thickers and it was done.

I love this little blue butterfly!  I used the yellow striped paper for my journalling too.

So the class was pretty clean and simple, packed with lovely colours.  I hope you enjoyed the pages.

Autumnal Layout with BoBunny's Floral Spice

Hello everyone, just a quick post today to share a new page that I made with the Floral Spice collection from BoBunny - it is packed with beautiful teals, purples and browns, perfect for Autumn. You can read more about it on the BoBunny blog - you will find the page here, so if you have time do head over and leave me a comment.

I did a little glitter paste mixing to get a two-tone stencil effect.

Here you can see some of the beautiful glittered chipboard pieces that they have in the collection.

Anyway, I will be back with more layouts having been on retreat with A Trip Down Memory Lane....loads of beautiful papers to play with and lovely friendships to catch up on too.

Summer pages with Echo Park Go See Explore

Hello everyone, sorry I haven't posted in ages, I'm not sure how many people still read blogs, or whether more of it has moved to instagram now...so if you are reading, do leave me a comment and let me know you are there and I can keep on posting and also hunt down your blog if you have one too.

Here are a couple of pages that I did for the Cybercrop over at A Trip Down Memory Lane - the classes are there and available - this one was called Ticket to Ride and featured the beautiful Go See Explore papers from Echo Park.  I have been enjoying the recent watercolour trend in scrapbooking and it's made me get out my paints and try all sorts of colours, so that's how this page started.  I also love a little camera and ended up with a little line of them hanging down from my papers.

The photo is from our summer holidays - where our pool was possible more inflatable than pool - there were doughnuts, crocodiles, watermelons...

Here is a close of up of some of the camera work and painty bits.

The next page in this class involved a map paper - I do like a map paper, and I went for multi-photo - so some shots around our villa - it was idyllic, and a beautiful place in Majorca with loads of lovely coves and beaches.  There is a tiny dot on the paper which is Majorca, so that is where the arrows lead.

I used lots of fussy cutting to add little details to the page.

I even tried a bit of my own handwriting for the title, and I'm trying to journal lots too, though sometimes that's after I've put the photos on the web!

Anyway, I hope you've enjoyed looking at the pages, and I will be back with some more later on in the week.

Water Fun with Kaisercraft Summer Splash

Here is a summery page for A Trip Down Memory Lane using Kaisercrafts Summer Splash collection.  I have really enjoyed using water colours and also distress oxides on my papers...you will notice a theme with my recent layouts!  This page started with blues and greens, and then flicks of paint with bursts of yellow and small nuovo drops and pearls too.

I created a washing line, and was inspired to round the edges of everything by one of the ephemera pieces - the photo frame in the middle of the page, that comes in this collection.  Once I had my 3 photo montage, I just embellished away using washi tape, stickers, wood veneers, cork, different bits of ribbon, pearls...I just had lots of fun!

Here you can see the cork and some of my nouvo enamel drops and the little Simple Story cork hearts.

Lots of layering with the classic camera wood veneers, some of the stickers and ephemera pack too.

I hope you've enjoyed this page - it was a baking day when we were camping and all of a sudden a full on water fight broke out which even involved the men...and then anything that would possibly carry water - they were all drenched afterwards, but it was the perfect way to cool down!

Treasure with BoBunny Sunshine Bliss

Hello everyone, more Sunshine Bliss today with a summery photo.  The background card was actually white and I dug out my water colours and picked up some of the yellows and pinks in the papers to colour it (having said that I could have probably just chosen a similar paper from the range and saved all the painting, but I did enjoy it).  I used the Vikki Boutin Colour wheel and Flower Garden stamps, carefully handcuffing them as my main embellishments.  I also used a few of the die cuts - Mandala and also a new little trellis die that you can extend by layering it up.  I also used the new tabs die from BoBunny and you can see one on the right hand side of the photo - lots of layering to add to all the colour on the page.

I hand cut my star burst and did it by eye mostly - all the mess is hidden under the photo.  I also added some stitching too as there has been so much of that about at the moment....it inspired me.

You can see the co-ordinating thickers in this collection - I love the mix of patterns.

Here is a close up of the stamps - I recently bought a Tim Holtz stamp press and have found that has much improved my success with stamping precisely - I often am a vintage scruffy stamper, but with this full proof way of having everything lined up and being able to get a second go is fantastic.  The Vikki Boutin ink colours are beautiful - they aren't water based so you can't paint with them, but they give an excellent burst of colour.

I hope you are all having lovely days.  I will be back with some more projects soon.

Home Sweet Home with BoBunny Sunshine Bliss

I had the pleasure of scrapping with another beautiful sunny collection of papers from BoBunny - Sunshine Bliss and I created some home decor.  If you check out their blog you can find out how I did the stitching.  I used lots of their co-ordinating blossoms and also one of their new phrase stamps - they have some really good inspiring phrases that are perfect for cards.

I got to play with some of the Vikki Boutin inks, and I really like all the different shades of colour, so I've used the flourish stamp and then the expressions phrase in the bright pink,

There is a beautiful pack of layered chipboard that comes with the range, and you can co-ordinate the glitter with the blush glitter paste.  I've also layered up a few of the die cuts - darling doily and sweet heart.

We are bathed in sunshine here - which is quite unusual...especially for this length of time and the summer holidays are looming - hopefully the sunny weather lasts!

Factory 42 Class

Hi everyone, I wanted to share some pages I made for Junes Virtual Crop over at A Trip Down Memory Lane.  They use Kaisercraft's Factory 42 papers which have a lovely industrial feel to them. I've started with the last page I created...so this one uses up lots of the left-overs from my kit, and I add a little more colour with distress oxides - pistachio, cracked pistachio and fossilized amber.   I then layered up all the papers and added a little bit of hand drawn stitching.

There are some lovely sentiments in this collection - lots about fathers.

For this page I offset lots of squares - which does make it tricker to line up and get everything straight - something that is not my strength!  However I like how the squares provided little panels for some of the phrases from the collection.

There are also some industrial wood veneers like the taps that you can have fun with.

This was the first page, I inked up the veneers with silver and added them around my pictures.  These photos are all from the same holiday and this one shows the competitive nature of my boys...with much laughter they are trying to push each other off and defend the one protruding rock in the river at Dovedale...amazingly they didn't both end up soaked!

Here you can see some of the layers of patterns in the papers.

I hope you've enjoyed the pages.  I have been making some more with the new BoBunny collections so do go and have a look at their blog and leave me a comment if you enjoy it :)

Getting Big...You Rock

I know these are older papers from Cocoa Vanilla, but I still really love them for boy layouts!  We could choose some papers to design with this month for ATDML so I went with these.

I mounted my layers on the Galatic base, tearing a section from Starshine and Plus One.  I cut out several of the stars from Starshine and mounted them on foam dots at the top and had them cascading down the page to the title.  I used one of the large star stickers and then a mix of stamps and the stitched denim alphabet for the title.

Around the photo I layered up more stickers from the collection and also added in some little neuvo enamel style dots too.  There are loads of typewritten words which you can add to the labels.

This is my little cluster of embellishments.

Here are some of the stars - I tried to match up the colours when I was mounting them on top of the paper.

I hope you've enjoyed my page...there will be more :)

Birthday Cards with Summer Mood

Here are some cards that I made using Summer Mood and lots of the BoBunny essential papers.  It uses a fairly straightforward Cascading card technique.

My first card uses the Up and Away die set with clouds and hot air balloons, I also added in some rainbows too.

This shows you a better  view of the card and how it comes together

I then used the cupcake dies to create a birthday card packed with colour and glitter.

Treasures of Yesterday

I have really been enjoying using watercolours on my pages of late and this one is no exception.  I've used BoBunny's Once upon a Life time to scrap a heritage photo.  I started with the flourish stencil and some white gesso, once that was dry I added layers of brown, green and orange watercolour, then a bit of stamping too - so lots of layers of paints and ink before the papers went on.

As well as the layers of paints and inks here you can see the layers of inked doily and also some die cuts.

I used one of the stickers for my title and bit of sparkle and lace.

I added in a laser cut leaf and some of the chipboard as well as a blossom to complete my page.

Free Spirit

Hello, another page this time using the beautiful Summer Mood paper set from BoBunny, it has some lovely summery colours and I added my own watercolour twist.  I also used the WRMK flower punch to create the large scallop layers at the base of the page.  Furthermore there is a video which you can watch and shows you all the way through the process - you can find it here.

I die cut some lollipops and also the Mandala and then used watercolour paints to add some colour.

I used confetti paste to add a bit of sparkle and also cut out the globe from one of the elements papers.

My title comes from one of the cards, and I added a couple more co-ordinating lollipops to this too.

Love

More clean and simple Twilight papers - this one with a grid pattern using lots of the papers and some of the journal cards.  Again clean and simple with a pocket for all your journalling.

I love the painted Home is wherever you are field, so I had to incorporate that into my page!

Again little clusters of embellishments to guide your eye across the page.

The perfect sized journal spot.

Again some more of that beautiful foiling and title fonts.  The next retreat is in November and if you email the shop they will be able to keep you up to date.
