Together and Today

These are the last 2 pages from the Windmills of my Mind class over at ATDML.  It's a bit different because it is on a 12" sheet of acetate, so it makes a clear page in your album - I photographed it on white card.  It takes a little bit of thinking because I had to line bits up and make sure things like the title didn't show on the reverse, but I really like that it is something a little different.  The papers are Dear Lizzy's documentary and I used my martha stewart go to punch....doily lace - I still love that one.  I cut quite a lot of hexagons from the papers and matched them up on both sides.

Both photos are from our holiday in the Peak District - a fabulous photo of all of us (we camp together) taken by a passer by - who really deserves more credit for a lovely photo but I don't have her name!  The other photo is sunset in one of the fields at our campsite taken by my good friend Rachel....who also takes fantastic photos too!

Love..

This is another page from the Dear Lizzy Documentary class I taught at the ATDML cybercrop - check the post below for all the links.  Jill always sends some coloured card in our kits - and it's taken me a while to really start to enjoy coloured card stock as it's such a big burst of colour and it's harder to add paints too, but I am really glad she does as I have grown to really enjoy using it, and it makes my albums more interesting with big bursts of colour.  This page was inspired by a beautiful, slightly more inky page from com.16 here is the link.  I drew around plates and all sorts of circles, then added it more circles in buttons and sequins as well as a little bit of mist.  I went with the rule of drawing around something 3 times and slightly off-setting it, which helps mask any imperfections and looks lovely!

The photo is from the top of the Heights of Abraham - my eldest infront of a Laburnum tree that was in full glorious yellow flower - though I hadn't notice that he had been playing with my camera settings so it all has a slightly brown tint to it!!!  I'm glad he really enjoys taking snaps, and still lets me take photos of him.

My Crew

Hi, I wanted to share some of the pages that I made for the A Trip Down Memory Lane Cybercrop - you can find the instructions in the store here and this is from my class - Windmills of Your Mind.  It's quite a quick page to put together once the painted circles have dried and uses lots of papers from the Dear Lizzy Documentary collection - I really like the thicker words! Even though the cybercrop was last weekend the classes stay available and if you are quick you can enter some of the challenges which are all on the blog.  I won't explain too much about how I made this page as you'll be able to read all about it!

The photo is from our May holiday in the Peak District on a walk through Dovedale - it is such a beautiful part of the world.

Door Hanger with Butterfly Kisses

I really enjoyed playing with the inks and mess for this project - it is a door hanger that I have been meaning to alter since the A Trip Down Memory Lane Retreat, and had coated with gesso and was just waiting for some mist.  I have a few photos to show you from the process too.

It started with a layer of gesso and then I did do a bit of misting and some other bits before my photos...so after I had added a layer of gesso I used some blue glitter paste (Frost) and BoBunny stencils (Fanciful), and added some Fleur de Lise copper foil (Copper Accents) from BoBunny too.  I used a mix of mists - the bright green is Mint by BoBunny and the blue is a Marion Smith Color Lab one I mixed myself - I also added some Peacock cosmic shimmer mist too....then when I decided to add the pink towards the end I used some tattered angel candy mist.

I added some flowers, the colours didn't matter too much as I gesso'd them so I could make them all co-ordinate with the misting and each other.

In the photo above I added another layer of gesso with my finger , and then added some of the pink mist over the top as I wanted it to stand out more, and the white gesso based helped this.

I also spritzed my flowers pink, and then some white card with the mint and blue mists and punched out leaves.  I used a Martha Stewart Monarch Butterfly punch to punch 2 pink butterflies from the Sunlit paper from Butterfly Kisses.  The last step was some black micro beads.

Don't forget the A Trip Down Memory Lane Cybercrop this weekend - loads of free classes, challenges and inspiration - it will all start on Friday night over on the blog.

Sunday Cards

It is that time of year when you need a few Thank You cards, so I've been playing with BoBunny's beautiful Butterfly Kisses papers to make some cards.  I used a mixture of the 6" pad and also some of the 12" papers to layer up all my pieces (I used Gentle and Joy from the 12" papers as well as some  Sunlit).  I distressed and layered up all the pieces, adding a doily and I used BoBunny's Elegant die for the band across the middle as well as one of the brads from this collection.  I punched a couple of little butterflies with a Martha Stewart punch and the final touch were a few drops of Coral Pearlescents in the corners.

For this card I used the 6" pad from butterfly kisses and then I did a little stamping with the Curly Q stamp set, again I used the Elegant die but also some of the Copper Foil Accents that BoBunny make.  Lots of layering and distressing, I roughly put down the foil accents - they stick really quickly so it is easy to get a distressed style look with them that just adds a little more bling.  I used a different Martha Stewart butterfly punch for the large butterfly and the Thank you stamp is from the Sentiments collection by BoBunny.

I've been busy writing classes for the ATDML cybercrop which starts on Friday over on the blog - do check it out - there are lots of free classes and challenges over the weekend.

Love Everyday with BoBunny

Hello, here is a page using the Beautiful Dreamer papers from BoBunny, I love a bit of print for the background so I used the Books paper, and then used Black Soot distress ink and a large stencil from Crafters Worshop to make a diamond shape in the middle.  I then added some layers of ink with Cosmic Shimmer mist and distress stain, plus a few sprinkles of these colours and some black.

I layered up a mixture of papers and did some fussy cutting of the b birds and compasses - there are loads of bits you can cut out from the Imagine Paper, and I inked a gauze with some more blue lime and vintage photo distress stain, then layered it all together.  In the little corners I added little dots of Coral Pearlescents and then some seed beads that I had left over from a broken necklace.  The title is from Heidi Swapp.

It is a shot from our camping trip to the Peak District where the weather was probably about the nicest in the country!  Gorgeous sunshine most of the days so here is my son chilling in my chair!

Other news is that ATDML are having another Cybercrop on the weekend of 15-17th July - most of the kits are gone - there are still a few left, however don't let that stop you taking part as there will be lists of things you can put together for your own kits too, plus plenty of challenges and chatting so do come and join us and be inspired - there will be lots of free classes to have a go at.
