I was sent some beautiful Cake Walk and 9 to 5 papers by Mel and Jill at A Trip Down Memory Lane this month. You can see some beautiful creations in the gallery here.
So this is the 1st of 2 pages (and a mini book) that I made. I tried something a little different as I didn't crumple up any of the papers - so it looks a little flat to me, but it was good to try something new. I made a little patchwork of papers behind the photo and then zig zag stitched it on, I also added a second photo edging it with lace and stapling on a little tag. I added lots of flicks of white paint, and used the yearology stamps and white embossing powder for the months. The title is the Ali Edwards font and I cut this out on my silhouette.
Onto the photo - having seen amazing cakes on the web, my cakes aren't; but they are made with love and my kids are incredibly appreciative of them even when they don't quite work. So this was for my eldest and he named it 'the ultimate chocolate cake' it is chocolate cake, with melted chocolate poured over it and then slices of mars, crunchie, rolos, maltesers, dairymilk and smarties stuck on the top. The down side is that all that chocolate makes it very hard to cut......but it does taste good :)
I'll be back with more of my creations later on in the week.
